Glasshouse Glasshouse

In the past year glasshouse have managed to tour through every remote place on the east coast of Australia, from Cairns through to Tasmania. They have released a new record (Restore Factory Settings) that made the top ten Australian releases for Tsunami Magazine and the top five indie releases for Rave Magazine.

However, it is with much pride that they can say that their biggest achievement this year has been the ten thousand dollars they have made for various charities. This is no mean feat for a band that runs their own indie label and have no support from any major label. It seems funny that such a positive thing could come from such a dark band.

Next year there will be a new record that goes far beyond anything Glasshouse have attempted. Also they will be visiting the places they missed in the last year of touring.

My Fiction My Fiction

The quintet formed early in 2007 when some members of former Brisbane art rockers Wipsnade Zoo re-grouped, found themselves a new rhythm section and locked themselves away in a defunct butcher's shop out in the sleepy suburbs of Brisbane. My Fiction are currently recording their debut EP at Black Box Studios with Jeff Lovejoy.

There is something urgent and edgy about My Fiction's songs that at times can be immediate, sharp and abrasive but also adventurous, warm and open. The lyrical content is drawn from many places, spanning from the busy streets of Tokyo to the seaside at Sandgate, from dark and mischievous romance, of course heartbreak, and the joy of riding a BMX in the Northern Suburbs.

My Fiction is - Sean Rigley (keyboards), Eric Robinson (vocals/guitar), James Laubscher (lead guitar), Mike Willmett (bass) and Danny Murphy (drums).
